In the Winter of 2024 the Lafosse family moved from the South Bay of Northern California to the Central Valley. What would seem like an ordinary move would become extraordinary. You see, the Central Valley of California is very cold and very dry during the winter months. This was a much different climate from the moist cool weather of the South Bay.

Sabrina’s hands began to crack, causing her dormant eczema to flare. This was a painful combination for a housewife who was usually busy about the house cleaning, cooking and looking after a toddler. Nothing at the store would soothe her cracked eczema pained hands. She finally made the leap of faith one evening and bought herself some tallow. She had read that tallow salve could help with such things. After making her first salve, she was hooked! Within a week her hands began to look and feel normal.

Around this same time, Sergio began to mention the absolute lack of shampoo options available at the store. Anything natural was too harsh for his hair, often stripping the important oils and having the opposite effect on his hair he had hoped. The Lafosse household was working hard to be chemical free. A lightbulb went off in Sabrina’s head; “What if I make a tallow shampoo?”

Sabrina set to work researching what essential oils were best for hair repair learning about the wonders of Peppermint and Rosemary. She then learned about super fats, lye and soap making. Buying a simple soap bar set, she made her first batch of super nourishing and cleansing all-in-one soap which she called Mint Rosemary Revival.

Sergio was hooked and soon the whole household and all their close relatives were enjoying this new soap bar. Sergio loved it so much he suggested they make enough to sell to the world.

Since 2025 Lafosse Soap Co has been making small batch All-in-One tallow based soaps, nourishing and pain relieving salves, sun screen, bug repellant and even dabbled in liquid dish soap!
